about JANE

As a young rider, Jane competed to advanced level in eventing, qualifying for Bramham and being in contention for young rider selection. This background led to her working as head girl for Penny Lawn in Yorkshire for five years, where she continued to compete as well as helping to produce horses up to CCI four star level.

Jane's passion turned to dressage, and she moved on to a head girl position at a dressage yard before deciding to set up on her own.

This background has provided Jane with extensive experience in breaking and producing horses for all disciplines. She has also worked with retraining older, problem horses and race horses.

Jane is currently starting the competitive career of her young horse Breaknock Breakthru (Bryan)  who will be aimed at Regionals in 2018. Jane is also competing clients' horses at all levels from Prelim up to Advanced Medium. Jane recently retired her Prix St George Hanoverian mare Flo (Florenza) and she is now firmly in the role of yard Diva!

Jane currently trains with International Grand Prix dressage rider Nicola Buchannan and is also training to become a Ride With Your Mind accredited trainer.

When teaching, Jane helps riders establish a firm foundation in the basics and develop feel. Jane is at her happiest when she's teaching people who want to improve, ambition or level is not an issue as long as the passion is there. Her current clients include happy hackers, Team Quest team riders (watch out for Jane's team in 2018), British Dressage riders at all levels from Intro to Inter II, British Eventing riders and British Showjumping riders.

Jane is more than happy to ride your horse to help you through a schooling issue, a challenging time or to teach more advanced movements and horses can be taken for schooling.

TRAINING & CLINICS

Jane's love for teaching shines through and she is happy to teach anyone who wants to improve their flatwork. Jane is training to become a Ride With Your Mind Coach which means rider positioning and effectiveness is at the top of her priorities. Her current clients range from happy hackers, jumpers all the way up to Inter II riders.

"Jane has transformed my riding and confidence in my ability. When I started having lessons I was a dedicated eventer forced to do stressage but now I'm aiming my horse for PSG having never previously ridden above Novice level"

Jane is available at her own yard but also travels to external clinics. If you would like to arrange one please get in touch.

COMPETITION LIVERY

Jane regularly competes her clients' horses on a short and long term basis and has the facilities to host the horse at her own yard. Each competition livery client has a bespoke training and competition plan and we love the owners to be involved should they wish.

"I was having some issues with my new horse and as well as schooling at home Jane has taken my horse out to several shows for me as well. It was lovely to see my horse so relaxed and build in confidence when previously he had been a nightmare to take out. It gave me the confidence that we *could* do it and Jane made sure that he was as rideable for me as her was for her which was so important as I'm an amateur rider"

TRAINING LIVERY

Jane will create a personalised plan for your horse to fit with their education and your objectives. Whether you wish for the horse to be backed, overcome a challenge in your schooling or just accelerate your progress, Jane can help you achieve your aims and leave you and your horse confident and ready to progress.

BOOT CAMP

Due to client demand Jane is now running two day Boot Camps to help you get some intense training. Each boot camp can be tailored to your needs but a common template is usually arrival and lesson pm day one, day two either groundwork lesson and flatwork lesson or flatwork and jumping lesson, day three morning lesson and home.

Stabling, haylage, grass free turnout and use of facilities is all included.

I wanted some intense training but hadn't appreciated how beneficial it would be to me and my horse. Not only did we overcome a challenge we were having with our canter but I also rode my first leg yield ever! The groundwork session uncovered some weaknesses in my horse that Jane gave me some exercises I have taken away and worked on and we have added them into our lessons too. We had a brilliant weekend and the team at Springwood made us feel so welcome I decided to stay full time!

Unlike a lot of local yards we are able to turn out year round regardless of the weather. We have grazing available year round but we also have sand paddocks which are perfect for those wet days or if your horse is not able to tolerate grazing for any reason.
